This card was originally released in the {{TCG|Diamond & Pearl}} expansion with artwork by [[Ken Sugimori]]. A special variant was released as a participation prize for the 2007-2008 City Championships, featuring the event logo. A gold foil stamped "Staff" version was also given to those overseeing the event. A promotional parallel foil variant with a "Diamond & Pearl" stamp was also released as part of a Burger King promotion in July 2008. In Japan, a holographic promotional version of this print was released as part of the DP Card Exchange campaign in November 2007.<br>

This card was reprinted as one of the {{TCG|DP Black Star Promos}} with different artwork by [[Kagemaru Himeno]]. The card was released in the {{merch|Diamond & Pearl|Diamond & Pearl Trainer's Challenge Set}} and available as one of several cards in the various iterations of {{merch|Diamond & Pearl|DP Value Pack 2}} outside North America. The Japanese version was released through a Meiji Chocolate promotion in February 2007.
