In general, Canada receives most of the same Pokémon merchandise that is available in {{pmin|the United States}}, such as plush toys and [[Pokémon food products|foods]]. Early Pokémon merchandise packaging generally used character names and terminology from the English version for both the English and French portions of the packaging. Following the release of Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver in French, using France's localized translation, most merchandise uses France's localized names for characters and terminology on the French portion of the packaging.
