Trivia
* Beheeyem and its pre-evolution Elgyem are the only species that can have Telepathy without it being their Ability.
* In X and Y, Elgyem and Beheeyem can learn Steel Wing from TM51. This is likely due to an oversight; in Generation V, TM51 contained Ally Switch, and the Pokémon are only available from Poké Transporter. But it may have to do with Beheeyems relation with Area 51.

Origin
Beheeyem is based on grey alien|greys}}, one of the more popular kinds of extraterrestrial life. Judging from Elgyem's Pokédex entry, it and its evolution may also be based on the Area 51 Area 51#UFO and other conspiracy theories concerning Area 51 or the Roswell UFO incident. Additionally, Beheeyem's design resembles a person wearing a hat and trenchcoat,trench-coat and is likely based on stereotypical spies, shady figures, "Men in Black ", or government agents in connection with alien sightings. The colored dots on its hands resemblesresemble the colorful faces of the invaders in the The War of the Worlds (1953 film); the aliens in the film had green, blue and red dots just like Beheeyem's Shiny coloration. Its rock-like design may reference Japanese Dogū statues, which have often been confused for alien artifacts. Considering its species names, physical appearance, and powers, it may also be based on a brain.
