Seel (Pokémon): Difference between revisions

Seel is a quasi-quadrupedal {{wp|Pinniped}} Pokémon, which lives on icebergs in frigged waters. It thrives in extreme cold temperatures; the colder its environment gets, the more active it becomes. Preferring to sleep during the day, it hunts for prey under sheets of ice in the late day and evening hours. On top of its head is a sharp protrusion, which it uses to easily plow through thick ice floes and bore holes up to the surface to breath. It possesses a {{a|Thick Fat|thick hide}} covered in a very light blue, almost white fur which helps insulate it from the elements. It has a light tan maw, with a large red tongue that is always sticking out. It also has a set of small upward facing tusks, which can also be used to chip away at ice in unison with the protrusion on its head. It has a small black nose with nostrils that have adapted to close while swimming in waters as cold as {{tt|40 below 0°F.|-40°C}} While it is a graceful swimmer, on dry land it is very awkward and struggles to get about on its two front flippers. It will usually only leave the water if necessary; however, on the rare occasion it does come ashore, it keeps its tail in a reared up fashion. This also gives its tail the illusion of a water sprout. It can be found in the [[Kanto]], [[Johto]], [[Sinnoh]] and [[Unova]] regions.
