I think both sides are right: in my opinion, this page should keep existing, but it would just have the basic information about all the types (example: how to get). Then, there should be a list with the links to all the pages referring the specific forms. If there are multiple pages for pokémon with repeated names (like ゥ, {{PK}}{{MN}} or invalid ones - "Glitch"), then I don't see how this page is taking so much to be split.
