Talk:Calem (game): Difference between revisions

Judging from where both Xavier and Calem's names are located on the official website, why can't we say that the NPC's name is Calem and that the identical player's name is Xavier? Obviously, they don't have the same plotline (one being your neighbor and one being you), so technically they could be considered separate characters. Besides, the official website is actually using both names, in what seem to be these two situations. I know that this is a rather complicated way to put it, and it may be easier to call him Calem and say that Xavier was exclusively prerelease (although Calem technically is, too), but this is what the website seems to be saying, and saying otherwise would be just as speculative, if not more so. :No. This happens every single game. When you play as {{ga|May}}, you get {{ga|Brendan}} and your neighbor. When you play as {{ga|Lucas}}, {{ga|Dawn}} is [[Professor Rowan]]'s assistant. When you play as {{ga|Ethan}}, {{ga|Lyra}} is your neighbor. When you play as {{ga|Hilbert}} or {{ga|Nate}}, {{ga|Hilda}} or {{ga|Rosa}} is your [[Battle Subway]] partner. It's the same thing that happens every single game. The names as NPCs are the official names. Xavier and Yvonne are just placeholder names, which they also use every game.
