| In their first appearance, ''[[EP246|Wish Upon a Star Shape]]'' Mary and Ken were trying to capture a {{p|Cleffa}} that had fallen from a spacecraft. They wanted to see where it had come from. {{Ash}} and {{ashfr}}, not wanting Cleffa to be harmed, tried to stop them from taking it. Ash sent his {{AP|Phanpy}} to protect Cleffa. The young Pokémon successfully brought Cleffa home to its spacecraft and away from Mary's grasp.
| | Like {{TRT}}, they have a motto, but consider themselves to be heroes despite their dubious methods. Although they don't use Pokémon of their own, they have a variety of scientifically advanced equipment and gadgets including bulldozers, jetpacks, robots, and rocket launchers which they build themselves using tools from the bag that Mary carries. |
