Talk:Experience-affecting item: Difference between revisions

::::::::I see that the take is to keep it as is. However, I insist that the difference is mainly in the effect, since the item is still the same due to its Japanese name. This creates an inconsistency because other items that have had name changes outside of Japan as well as slight changes in effect weren't distinguished. It is thus illogical to create an exception in this situation, IMO. :::::::::If two items have similar effect and possess the same name in the Japanese versions, then they ARE the same one. That an item behaves differently between games or has different names in the localized version doesn't make it two separate objects. The Exp. Share and the Exp. All are clearly the same item, it's just that Gen II tweaked its effect to take advantage of the feature to equip items, and the translators saw themselves forced to give it a different name from its Gen I version, as "Exp. All" no longer fitted (since it only affected the Pokémon that held it, rather than all of the party's members). - Ericss 20:47, 16 March 2012 (UTC)

::::::::::So now the consensus is to not include it _anywhere_? --Det (talk) 13:12, 15 May 2013 (UTC)
