 Caterpie is first mentioned to the {{player}} and partner by his mother, {{p|Butterfree}}. Butterfree gives the player and partner their first mission of the game, to rescue Caterpie from [[Tiny Woods]] after it had gotten lost. After saving it, Caterpie expresses the wish to join the rescue team when it grows up.
