That's just a matter of opinion. It's much harder for me to do it on the 3DS than on the DSL

 When soft resetting for a Shiny Pokémon, another similar term, shiny resetting, can also be used.
-The method is made much easier if a DS Pokémon game is played on the [[Nintendo 3DS]], as the START button is almost perfectly linear to the R button. The same applies for the SELECT button and the L button.
