The [[Cerulean Gym]] specializes in {{type|Water}}s — not surprising, as the Gym itself is a large swimming pool.  {{t|Electric}}- and {{type|Grass}}s will work best here, and Grass-type attacks are especially useful against Misty's {{p|Quagsire}}.  Look out for Quagsire's {{m|Earthquake}}  and {{p|Lapras}}' {{m|Blizzard}}.

A {{m|Thunderbolt}} or two will take out [[Misty]]'s {{p|Golduck}} and {{p|Starmie}}, but be wary of Starmie's {{m|Recover}}.
