There is nothing on {{rt|11|Kanto}} exceptbut a handful of Trainers and a [[berryBerry]] tree. However, it does gettake you where you wantback to go - the sleeping {{p|Snorlax}} onjust {{ci|outside [[Vermilion}}'s eastern borderCity]]. To wake it up, tune the [[Pokégear]]'s radio to the Poké Flute channel (20.0), and press the B Button. Exit the menu, and check onexamine Snorlax to place the radio near the snoozing creature. It wakes up annoyed, and attacks. If you don't catch it, at least use {{playerm|Thief}} to swipe the closest{{DL|In-battle livingeffect thingitem|Leftovers}}. it Afterholds. the battle,Now entertake [[Diglett's Cave]] to {{rt|2|Kanto}}.

With the Fuchsia beach blocked, the only way to reach western Kanto is through [[Diglett's Cave]] is, a shortlong tunnel that connects the eastern border oflinks {{ci|Vermilion}}'s east side with {{rt|2|Kanto}} in the westnorthwest. ThereCatch is nothing of major interest here, though this is the only location to finda wildfew {{p|Diglett}} and {{p|Dugtrio}}. on Trekyour way through the tunnel, and you'll emerge justbefore southemerging ofnear [[Pewter City]].

Stop by the Poké Center and heal your team if needed, and head east for {{rt|3|Kanto}}. Near the {{ci|Pewter}} city limits, you'll see an old man strolling around. Talk to him, and he'll give you an item he found while training in [[Johto]], the {{DL|List of key items in Generation II|Silver Wing}} (<span style="color:#B69E00">Gold</span>) / {{DL|List of key items in Generation II|Rainbow Wing}} (<span style="color:#979797">Silver</span>). With this, Gold players can now encounter {{p|Lugia}} in the [[Whirl Islands]], and Silver players can encounter {{p|Ho-Oh}} on the roof of the [[Tin Tower]].
