What I did is say that we have an unwritten policy of denying often obvious things (I unofficially call it "Bulbadenial", but no matter what you call it, it just exists), which I don't quite agree with (but follow it nonetheless). Also, as a long-time member (way older than most of the current staff) I'd expect some respect from others as well.
