::Edit - I was just playing around with this glitch some more... it turns out that you can turn any Pokémon in your party into Mew as long as Magikarp is the first Pokémon on the list. Also, supposedly it doesn't even need to be Magikarp, just any Pokémon with either Water as its only type or Water as its second type (although I haven't tried it with anyone other than Magikarp).
