:It's basically because some people take shippings really seriously, so there has to be some sort of disclaimer. After all, we do adhere to NPOV here as much as possible, we're not gonna go out and say something like "anyone who uses Arceus is a cheater" or "Ash is an idiot", except with backed up facts. Since shippings, of course, cannot be proven unless the writers actually decide to focus there, well, there's the warning just in case, especially in cases where there's a homosexual shipping, since there are always more conservative people who'll complain about them.
