:The first two generations, the move animation is literally the whole screen shaking side to side. The still frame is mid-move - the frames are slightly off center. The third generation is very similar, but some parts move relative to each other (Notice the Diglett is to one side of its circle of ground). The fourth generation they added some small pieces of rock around the Pokemon.
