It says Mewtwo is male, and since Mewtwo is the clone of Mew, wouldn't that make Mew male? I'm not quite sure how cloning works, so correct me if I'm wrong.--Burgundy 23:49, 9 February 2011 (UTC)
:well assuming that the 2 have gender (which they don't) would your theory have any basis at all there's nothing to say that they didn't alter a gene from x to y or y to x who knows? it doesn't matter though because this whole idea in nonsense neither Mew nor Mewtwo (any of them, EVER) have had genders or will have genders. full-stop. —Mada-sama (Talk to me!)— 13:30, 10 February 2011 (UTC)
Japanese version
"Mew followed Team Rocket into the main part of the island so it could challenge Mewtwo, convinced that a naturally born being would always be more powerful than its clone."
"In the Japanese version, Mew claimed that it intended to destroy cloned Pokémon because it viewed them as inferior, in stark contrast with Mewtwo's desire to eliminate all natural life"
How is this intent conveyed? Does Mew actually speak in the Japanese version or is it Mewoth's translation? And I think the first quote should also be restricted to just the Japanese version, the English version depicts Mew as peaceful and playful with no intention to commit genocide as far as I can remember.
