Professor Imori first appeared in a flashback given by the townspeople while they were explaining experiencing random mental visions coming into their minds while visiting or being around his house. {{an|Cilan}} is intrigued and the trio decide to go investigate Imori's house. Imori invites them in and as they discuss the strange occurrences, Imori suddenly gets a vision of a machine exploding and rushes to his basement. {{Ash}}, {{an|Iris}} and Cilan follow him and a find a large machine is overloading and on the verge of exploding.
