Excalibur is a sharp metal object that pierced a stone --> mining --> drills. As for Excadrill's metal features not resembling a knight's helmet, that's just your own opinion, not a fact. Anyway, all of this is very likely coincidental but there is no way to prove or disprove that the localization team purposely included the word "Excalibur" in their names.
