Rock Tunnel
Rest up, because the nearest Poké Center is located on the other end of , in Lavender Town1F. It's a good idea to bring an Escape Rope or two, something that can dig, and maybe a few Repels. It is also recommended to bring a Pokémon that can Flash the dark pathways. Be aware that there are 15 Trainers wandering inside the tunnel.

Finally, fresh air and sunlight! As gruelingrough as it may have been, all that battling was worth about pdollar11000, and it's not over yet!. If medical attention is an issue, walk to the right to avoid the four Trainers loitering outside the tunnel (and check the lone tree for a Ether). Proceed south to enter Lavender Town.

Lavender Town
thumb|left|Lavender Town

Lavender is a tiny town, but it does have a few notablenoteworthy buildingslocations. The Poké Mart in the southeast sells some handy new items, including Revives (which restores half of a fainted Pokémon's to 1/2-health) and Poké Balls (an upgrade of the traditional Poké Ball).

The Name Rater
The house near the town's southern exit is home to the Name Rater, a man who judges the nicknames that Trainers give to their Pokémon. An odd occupation, but his services are free, so Trainers are free to change their Pokémon's nicknames as often as they would like.

Abduction!
Kindly old Mr. Fuji, head of the Lavender Volunteer Pokémon House, has gone missing. His disappearance may have some connection to the recent paranormal activity occurring in the nearby Pokémon Tower. There's nothing tothat can be dodone about it right now, but keep an eye out for clues...

thumb|right|You can't battle them if you don't know what they are!
Pokémon Tower
Pokémon Tower, where departed Pokémon are laid to rest, appears to be the source of the town's problems. Having a connection to the spirit world, most wild Pokémon found inside are Ghosts. TheYour rival is on the tower's second floor, but Trainersit canis putpossible offto delay that battle until later by avoiding the tower for right now. The spirit world's influence strengthens beyondabove the second floor, where ghosts and possessed Channelers are commonplace,. but But without a List of key items in Generation I, Trainersyou arewon't be unableable to climb to the tower's top floor.

Restless Spirits
Most ghosts inside the tower are actual Pokémon in disguise that can be battled or captured onceafter obtaining the Silph Scope. Gastly and Haunter are two of the only three Ghosts in the game (the third being Gengar), so it's worthwhile to track them down. The one true restless spiritghost in the tower blocks access to the final floor, but since Trainersyou can't do anything but run from it, it's best to ignore it for now. There However, there are rumors of a Silph Scope prototype in Celadon City, so pack up and head west.

Route 8
Celadon City lies to the west, but Saffron City stands in the way. Cut down one of the trees here to reach the patch of tall grass, where a new Fire can be found. No one is currently allowed through the guardhouse, so enter the house to the north and take the Lavender-Celadon Underground that runs west underneath Saffron. Remember to use the List of key items in Generation I in the tunnel to search for lost valuables. The tunnel emerges on 7.

thumb|left|Route 7

This tiny route leads Trainersyou straight into Celadon City. in the west. The tall grass here is aan goodeasy way for a Trainer to raise theiryour Pokémon, (which should be atabout least Lvlevel 30 before challenging the Celadon Gym). Now let's check out the big city.
