:*1. I know. But it's a historical thing. Kanji are now a part of Japanese language.
*2. But it no longer is. In Japanese Kanji are read only in on- and kun-reading nowadays. Chinese doesn't play any role in Japanese language anymore. Also, no other Pokémon name was derived from Chinese, unless the Pokémon itself was based on some Chinese thing. This doesn't apply to Jihead. Dragons are everywhere. Chinese is no longer the most influential language in the East. New Chinese-derived words in Japanese is a rarity.
*3. Great argument... I happen to know Chinese phonology system and I happen to know that Mandarin Chinese doesn't have voiced consonants at all. It only has unvoiced and aspirated ones. "J" is unvoiced counterpart of aspirated "Q". Neither are pronounced as the same letters in English. You know Chinese, so you should know NOT TO ASSOCIATE PinYin spelling with the pronounciation.
*4. That's the most farfetched thing I've ever heard.
*5. What the hell? I DID sign my message. I always do. --[[User:Maxim|Maxim]] 10:31, 31 October 2010 (UTC)
