Appendix:HeartGold and SoulSilver walkthrough/Section 9: Difference between revisions

North of the city is a cave hewn into the cliffs.  Inside is the [[Cliff Edge Gate]], a sort of checkpoint that leads to the two new routes in Johto, {{rt|47}} and {{rt|48}}.  The Safari Zone isn't quite finished, but it should be operational soon.  [[Baoba]] will call you shortly to inform you that it's up and running.

Once you gain access to the {{jo|Safari Zone}}, you're free to start catching rare Pokémon.  Visit [[Appendix:HeartGold and SoulSilver walkthrough/Road to the Safari Zone|this page]] for data on [[Route]]s {{rtn|47}} and {{rtn|48}}, and [[Appendix:HeartGold and SoulSilver walkthrough/Johto Safari Zone|this page]] for data on the {{jo|Safari Zone}} itself.

Now fly back to {{ci|Ecruteak}}, and head east to {{rt|42}}.

{{rt|42}} stretches across northeastern Johto, connecting [[Ecruteak City]] to [[Mahogany Town]].  The large cave here is optional, though it contains many rare items and Pokémon.  {{m|Surf}} east and {{m|cut}} down the small tree to reach the Apricorn grove on the central landmass, and another surprise encounter.  {{p|Suicune}} fled here after you spotted it north of {{ci|Cianwood}}, and it runs off again when you get too close.  [[Eusine]] shows up again, too, and speaks with you briefly before leaving.  Surf east again, and trade phone numbers with Fisherman Tully - he'll call you for a rematch, and will occasionally call to give you a {{evostone|Water Stone}}.
