== Stuff ==

I've been a fan of Pokémon games since the beginning, and I'm more than a little frustrated at Nintendo's continual failed attempts to make a proper 3D console Pokémon game in the style of the portable games (with proper wild Pokémon encounters etc) despite the fact that it'd sell millions. >_> In fact Nintendo as a whole is failing recently. Sigh.
Currently (2010) I have a Wii, DS, and PS3 (as well as a collection of older consoles).

I like the TCG as well but don't really play that much (I don't know that many people in real life who would play it with me!), and Apprentice falls well short in simulating the feel of actually playing a tabletop TCG in real life. I'm closely watching the progress of other TCG simulators currently in development. I'd also love it if Nintendo released another handheld/console Pokémon card game but sadly it seems unlikely (see above).

Used to watch the anime but have moved on since.

I generally enjoy games that place some focus on strategy, or beating hiscores, or puzzles, or rhythm, or platforming. JRPGs are good. Adventure(? Zelda/Okami-style) games are good. FPSs go well ''sometimes''.<br>

Genres I'm not too keen on include ''real-time'' strategy (every time I play a game like that I end up hating it), 2D ''console-based'' fighters (much prefer 3D where there's room for it), ''WW2'' FPSs or the like (I'll take awesome alien or futuristic weapons instead thanks) and to a limited extent sandbox games - I love the concept but they often feel shallow. I'm sure I'll get suckered into a few more though. LittleBigPlanet was some kind of a success to me.

I'm fairly competent with Japanese, and I do some translating for anime fansub groups. I collect (raw) manga too.

I also have some personal semi-secret programming projects I'm working on in my spare time, which will hopefully become popular in the future >_>
