Hi Aescula. Bulbapedia does operate quite differently from other wikis. This is part of the reason that every new user gets the welcome message: so that they have the opportunity to read and learn about the policy enforced here (as opposed to how to use MediaWiki software, although this is included on some pages - unfortunately, not all of our users have used wikis before). Regarding the talk page policy; we require all messages to be kept for historical purposes. For example, when issuing "leveled" warnings, users need to quickly identify at which stage of the warning the user is on. The welcome message, though, should be kept so you have a permanent link to help pages and policy pages. This is all in the {{bp|talk page}} policy, which you can navigate to through the {{bp|Welcome|Welcome Portal}}. If you already understand MediaWiki software, that's great! I look forward to working with you. :I'd look forward to working here, too, but for one, I know little about pokemon that isn't listed here already, and besides, I can't seem to edit much.  I mean, not even my own userpage, weird as that is.--[[User:Aescula|Aescula]] 09:34, 4 May 2010 (UTC)
