Why provide hiragana readings for katakana? I know it is done occasionally in Japanese, but it is really just excessive, and unlike kanji readings doesn't clarify anything.

スズ (錫) refers to "tin" and can be spelled as すず too but the hiragana usually refers to 鈴, which means "bell".
