→Name origin: It's more likely that the name comes from Algarve (or Albufeira as hinted in French) and "fornada", a very specific word with a fitting meaning. All the references can be traced back to Algarve with the explicit exception of the ovens of Seville, which is referenced in other languages.

Adding an extra tidbit that solidifies "fornada" being the source, which wasn't clear. "Fornada" is actually a batch of baked goods out of a large stone oven, which makes complete sense with the Japanese name. It might be used to represent any other kind of batch, but on a figurative sense only.

The name Alforneira in French seems to be a reference to Albufeira.
