This card was included as a Regular card, a Full Art ultra rare card, a special illustration rare card, and a gold etched hyper rare card in the Paldea Evolved expansion, first released in the Japanese Triplet Beat subset. The Regular, Full Art, and hyper rare prints feature artwork by 5ban Graphics, while the special illustration rare print features artwork by kantaro. An SVP Black Star Promo version of the card with artwork by 5ban Graphics was included in the Paldea Partners Tins, released on September 1, 2023. This SVP Black Star Promotional print was released in Japan, alongside a new Shiny ultra rare print with artwork by the same illustrator, as part of the Shiny Treasure ex subset. The Shiny ultra rare print was later released as another SVP Black Star Promo available in the Paldean Fates Skeledirge ex Premium Collection from February 9, 2024.

The special illustration rare print is one of numerous cards to feature an illustration that is part of a narrative. Following on from the scene on the Crocalor card, the Crocalor has evolved into Skeledirge, who is walking together with its Trainer while carrying their groceries.
