Shining Mew (Japanese: ひかるミュウ Shining Mew) is a Psychic-type Basic Pokémon card. It is one of the Unnumbered Promotional cards.

You can't have more than 1 Shining Mew in your deck.
Lightning Flash Search
Look at the top 3 cards from your deck. Choose 1 card from those cards, show it to your opponent, then put it into your hand. Shuffle the rest into your deck.
PsychicFire Mystic Fire
Discard 1 Fire Energy card attached to Shining Mew in order to flip a coin. If heads, the Defending Pokémon is now Confused. If tails, the Defending Pokémon is now Asleep. If you can't discard Energy cards, this attack does nothing (not even damage).

In Japan, this card was available as an insert with the May 2001 issue of CoroCoro Comic, released on April 15, 2001.


  • This card features the Neo Destiny set symbol, indicating that it is a promotional addition to the Japanese set. Despite this, it does not have the special foil treatment the other Shining Pokémon in the set feature, rather it has the foil treatment that Shining Pokémon in the Japanese Neo Revelation set feature.
  • The card text on the bottom of the card border reads: "Monthly CoroCoro Comics: May issue extra card".


This card depicts a Shiny Mew. Mystic Fire is an Accessory that can be obtained from the Massage Girl in the Pokémon games. This card's Pokédex entry comes from Pokémon Gold.
