Saison Canal

The Saison Canal (Japanese: セゾン運河 Saison Canal) is a canal in Lumiose City in the Kalos region. It runs on a southeast to northwest trajectory, crossing directly beneath Prism Tower and Centrico Plaza, thereby dividing the city into two.

Pokémon world locations

Northwest of Centrico Plaza, the canal is entirely within the Magenta District and is considered to be part of Magenta Street which surrounds the canal. Southeast of Centrico Plaza, the canal separates Vert District from Jaune District. The stretch southeast of Centrico Plaza is the only place where the canal is treated as a distinct geographic road (for the purposes of a Pokémon's summary screen met location). Wild Zone 11 is later built here over a section of the Saison Canal; this is the only wild zone in the game not to be confined within the boundaries of a single district.

The Saison Canal appears to be based on River Seine, the second-longest river in France; specifically, it may be based on the portion of the river that flows through Paris, known colloquially as la traversée de Paris (the crossing of Paris).
