This disk was awarded as a prize at the CoroCoro Dream Fight! Rayquaza Super Challenge event held at the 51st Next Generation World Hobby Fair during winter 2020. The World Hobby Fair took place at the Nagoya Dome, Nagoya on January 19, 2020; at Makuhari Messe, Chiba on January 25 and 26, 2020; at the Fukuoka Yafuoku! Dome, Fukuoka on February 2, 2020; and at the Kyocera Dome Osaka, Osaka on February 9, 2020.
Entrants were challenged to defeat Battle Leader Karimi and 1 of his 2 possible teams of 3 Pokémon. Those who successfully defeated all 3 Pokémon could select to dispense a "WINNER" version of either this disk or a different Rayquaza disk following the battle. Entrants who were not successful were awarded a non-winner version of either this disk or the other Rayquaza disk at random. The 10 players of junior high school age and below as well as the 5 players of high school age and above with the highest score following the conclusion of each day were each awarded a certificate and a mounted set of special gold versions of both Rayquaza disks in an acrylic case. Manga artist Machito Gomi drew the illustration present on all versions of the disk, which also feature the CoroCoro Comic logo.
