Release information

In Japan, two different XY-P Promotional prints of this card were made available. The first, numbered 123/XY-P, was included as an insert with the April 2015 issue of CoroCoro comic, released on March 15, 2014. This print has the CoroCoro dragon mascot watermark behind the attack text. In English, this card was included in the Rayquaza-EX Box released on June 3, 2015 as both a regular-sized and a Jumbo card. The second, numbered 122/XY-P, was available as part of the Pokémon Card Chance campaign running concurrently with the release of Emerald Break. Two varieties of point cards were included in specially marked Emerald Break booster packs with values of 0 or 1. People who collected three 1 point cards could send these to a redemption service via post in exchange for 1 promotional card. The 0 point cards were not eligible for redemption. A maximum of nine 1 point cards could be sent per letter, but there was no restriction on letters sent from individual applicants. The redemption period ran from March 14 to May 7, 2015. People could also carry out the same exchange with attendants present at each Rayquaza Mega Battle venue, held at the Nagoya Trade & Industry Center, Nagoya on May 5, 2015; at Makuhari Messe, Chiba on May 9 and 10, 2015; at the Sapporo Factory, Sapporo on May 23 and 24, 2015; and at Intex Osaka, Osaka on May 31, 2015. This Shiny print was included in English in the Shiny Rayquaza-EX Box, officially released on August 19, 2015 as both a regular-sized and a Jumbo card.

In Korean, the promotional print of this card was made available as a prize for the winners of the XY Mega Team Battle Competition on August 17, 2015. Teams of two would face off against other teams of two, with each player of the team independently playing the opposing teams player. The teams of two would battle other teams until they had three victories. Once the team had acquired three victories they were awarded the 078/XY-P Shiny Rayquaza promo card with the "Team Battle" stamp on the face of the card.
