Poncho (Japanese: パンチョ Poncho) is a character of the day who appeared in Go Go Ludicolo!. He and his Ludicolo are traveling street performers who go from town to town with his Ludicolo to entertain people with their bongo playing and dancing.
Poncho encountered Ash and his friends in the middle of a forest located near North Petalburg. He challenged Ash to a battle, adding that if he wins he gets their sandwiches, but if he loses he would buy them some cheeseburgers. Ash confidently accepted the challenge, choosing Corphish. Poncho played his drums throughout the match, helping Ludicolo to keep tempo and eavde oncoming attacks with ease. Ash underestimated his opponent's abilities and lost.
Corphish refused to accept its defeat and it later found Poncho and Ludicolo and demanded a rematch. Before Poncho could reply, Team Rocket netted him and Ludicolo. Corphish intervene, causing the Meowth balloon to crash and sent the trio blasting off. Impressed with how strong Corphish was, Poncho decided to share the sandwiches he received earlier with the group. Poncho also agreed to a rematch, this time against Ash's Torkoal, though the winner was not revealed.
