The Pokémon franchise first reached North Macedonia (then called FYR Macedonia) with the airing of EP001 in 2002.

Pokémon video games

The Pokémon video games are released in North Macedonia in English. From 1997 to 2015, Nintendo games were sold by Nortec Multimedia.[1] Since 2016, CD Media has been selling games.[2]

Pokémon anime

The first season aired on television in 2002 on the North Macedonian channel A1 TV. 36 of these episodes were sold as CDs along with a childrens magazine called "Оправдано присутни". 12 CDs were sold with each one containing 3 episodes per CD. It is also alleged that S02 through S07 were skipped and that S08 was dubbed. Nothing else is currently known about the anime.

A Macedonian-subtitled version of Detective Pikachu was shown in cinemas on May 16, 2019.
