The Pokémon Spotlight Hour (Japanese: スポットライトアワーSpotlight Hour) is a weekly in-game event in Pokémon GO that features specific Pokémon through limited-time increased spawn rates and different resource bonuses every Tuesday, from 6 P.M. to 7 P.M. local time.
This event originally featured only increased spawn rates of Pokémon. A separate event, the Mystery Bonus Hour (Japanese: ふしぎなボーナスアワーMysterious Bonus Hour) which featured only different resource bonuses, were originally held every Thursday from 6 P.M. to 7 P.M. local time. It was discontinued and integrated into the current version of the Pokémon Spotlight Hour.
3× Transfer Candy if player chose additional bonus during certain events in Mythical Wishes season
An error occurred in Indonesia due to this Spotlight Hour coinciding with the month-long Waktu Indonesia Nangkep event; as a result, players do not receive the 2× Transfer Candy bonus as expected. To make up for the error, players playing in Indonesia received 2× Transfer Candy bonuses from January 5, 2023 until the end of the Waktu Indonesia Nangkep event on January 8, 2023.[2]
This Spotlight Hour would have debuted Zorua, which would have appeared in a surprise encounter disguised as the player's Buddy Pokémon. However, due to a glitch, the Zorua surprise encounter is suspended for time zones west of GMT+13,[3][4] and was reintroduced on October 28, 2022.
