The guide is based on Pokémon Ruby, causing many oversights related to differences in Pokémon Sapphire.
- The notable Pokémon listed on location pages are based on the version-exclusive Pokémon in Pokémon Ruby.
- Team Aqua members are listed as using the same parties as Team Magma does in Pokémon Ruby. For example, Team Aqua Grunts are shown to use the Numel evolutionary line instead of the Carvanha evolutionary line.
- The Trick House's item list only lists the Red Tent, which is Ruby-exclusive. Sapphire players get the Blue Tent.
The guide is based on a player who chose Mudkip as their first partner Pokémon.
- Party listings for Brendan/May list the Pokémon they use if the player chose Mudkip, except for their first partner Pokémon, which the book notes depends on the player's first partner Pokémon.
- On page 45, the guide says the player will receive a Mudkip Doll in the Mauville Game Corner, but the doll received actually depends on the player's first partner Pokémon.
On page 11, the male player character/rival is referred to as "Brandon" instead of Brendan.
On page 11, a tip says to "Buy 10 items at once to get a free prize". While the player can receive a Premier Ball by purchasing 10 Poké Balls at once, this does not apply to other items.
On page 12, Ralts is misspelled as "Ralis".
On page 23, the guide says that the tall building left of the entrance is the Devon Corporation tower. This building is actually a residential building, and the Devon Corporation building is located in the northwest of the city.
On page 29, the guide says that the player receives a Silk Scarf from a woman in Dewford Town. It is actually given by a man.
On page 70, Mightyena is misspelled as "Nightyena".
On page 82, Fortree Gym is described as the fifth Gym, but it is actually the sixth Gym.
On page 97, Brendan/May is stated to use a fully-evolved first partner Pokémon during the battle in Lilycove City, but in the game their first partner Pokémon is only in its second stage.
On page 118, the Sootopolis Gym is described as containing a "large assortment of Ice Pokémon", but it is actually a Water-type Gym and the only Ice-type Pokémon present is Wallace's Sealeo.
On page 126, Sidney's party is listed as including a Level 41 Magneton, instead of his actual Level 48 Sharpedo.
On page 132, in the section on New Mauville, Voltorb is mispluralized as "Voltorbs".
