Plus Move
A Plus Move (Japanese: ワザプラス Move Plus) is the signature mechanic of Pokémon Legends: Z-A that boosts the effect of any move it is used on. It is the counterpart to strong style from Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
Usage
Plus Moves are usable after obtaining the Mega Ring, following Main Mission 9. A Plus Move can be activated by pressing the + button while selecting a move when at least one gauge of Mega Power is full; one gauge is consumed upon execution. Any move used by a Mega Evolved Pokémon will be a Plus Move; these moves do not directly consume a gauge, as Mega Evolution already drains energy while active.
Only moves with a Plus Move mark (Japanese: 皆伝の印 mark of mastery) can be used as Plus Moves. This mark can be gained in two ways:
- If the Pokémon naturally learns the move, it will become a Plus Move at a later level.
- If the Pokémon only learns the move through a TM, the move can be upgraded to a Plus Move by talking to Josée at the Justice Dojo, in exchange for a Seed of Mastery after defeating Josée at the start of Main Mission 19.
Effects
- For a full list of Plus Moves, see List of moves in Pokémon Legends: Z-A.
Plus Moves have the following effects on attacking moves:
- Super effective Plus Moves deal 30% additional damage; other Plus Move deal 20% additional damage.
- Non-Plus Moves deal 70% reduced damage to Rogue Mega Evolved Pokémon.
