Wizards Black Star Promo in the VHS and DVD releases of from November 14, 2000. In Japan, it was first available as a glossy card on sheet six of The Power of One Expansion Sheet 1. It was reprinted as a non-glossy card in the Red Deck of the Quick Starter Gift Set.
An Italian version was included in the
Pikachu World Collection, available to purchase exclusively at Pokémon Park 2000 held at Sydney University, Sydney, Australia from September 12 to October 4, 2000. This print features a gold foil Pikachu tail stamp opposite the Black Star Promo symbol.
This card is commonly known as
Bumblebee Pikachu or Tiger Pikachu, in reference to the angle the Pikachu is illustrated from, giving the impression of bee or tiger stripes.
