Paldea first partner Pokémon

The Paldea first partner Pokémon are the trio of PokémonSprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly[1]—chosen by Trainers at the start of their journey in Paldea. These are traditionally given out by Director Clavell and are to be used to battle the first wild Pokémon that the Trainer encounters.

In Pokémon GO, all three Paldea first partner Pokémon can be caught and encountered along with their Evolutions.

Pokémon Masters EX

In Pokémon Masters EX, the Paldea first partner Pokémon can obtained as Egg Pokémon for the player character Scottie/Bettie as sync pairs.

Pokémon UNITE

In Pokémon UNITE, the Sprigatito line have Unite licenses and can be played as in Unite Battles. Meowscarada was added on December 7, 2023.

Pokémon Sleep

In Pokémon Sleep, the three Paldea first partner Pokémon can be obtained by filling their Friendship Points after a sleep session.

Pokémon Frienda

In Pokémon Frienda, the player has the option to store save data on a separate pick for ¥200, which will include one of the three Paldea first partner Pokémon at random. This first partner Pokémon cannot be used in battle regularly, but has a 25% chance of attacking after the player's lead Pokémon has attacked. Additionally, it can gain experience at the end of each session with the possibility of evolving.

Super Smash Bros series

In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, all three Paldea first partner Pokémon were added as Spirits during the New Pokémon Discoveries! Spirit Board event between February 9, 2024 to 6 a.m. on February 14, 2024.

The Paldea first partner Pokémon in Pokémon Horizons: The Series

Pokémon Horizons: The Series

In Pokémon Horizons: The Series, the Paldea first partner Pokémon are the first partners of Liko, Roy, and Dot. Liko first met her Floragato as a Sprigatito at the Indigo Academy, where it was chosen for her as her first partner in The Pendant That Starts It All (Part One). A Crocalor as a Fuecoco lived on the Brave Olivine and eventually met Roy on an island, and as the two bonded, Fuecoco eventually became Roy's first partner in The Ancient Poké Ball. A Quaxwell as a Quaxly also lived on the Brave Olivine and often participated in Nidothing videos with Dot, and formally became Dot's first partner in Quaxly, We Can Do It!.

Pokémon Adventures

In Pokémon Adventures, Director Clavell gives Violet a Fuecoco. It is unknown how Scarlet and Nemona obtained their Sprigatito and Quaxly respectively.

Trivia

  • The Paldea first partner Pokémon are the only first partner trio to not be owned by a trainer in Pokémon the Series.
  • The Paldea first partner Pokémon are the only first partner Pokémon that cannot be found in the Terarium.
  • The Quaxly line is the first and only first partner Pokémon line to be foreign to the region of the game that it was introduced in, according to Quaxly's Pokédex entry in Pokémon Scarlet.
