Red, Clefairy, and Pikachu are lost out in the road. Clefairy unsuccessfully tried to get someone to pick them up but the driver in his vehicle passed by them. A truck came by and Pikachu lit up his tail to get the truck's attention by the tail was too bright and the truck went off course and hit the group. The group were taken to a hospital and arrived in Celadon City. While in Celadon City, Pikachu found a coin which led the group to the Celadon Game Corner. Inside the game corner, Red met up with his rival, Green. He bragged to Red about winning tons of coins until Pikachu tried out one of the slots and got straight 7's. This attracted the attention of the whole casino who congratulate Pikachu on winning the jackpot. Team Rocket who watch the whole thing from the security room plan on stealing Pikachu.

After Pikachu won the jackpot at the Slot Machines, Red and Clefairy were given a chance to relax in a pool behind a mansion. However, this was interrupted when Hitmonlee snatched Pikachu. Hitmonlee revealed to Clefairy that he was the one who was in disguise as a pole dancer. Clefairy chased after him to a wrestling ring. He fought Hitmonlee and struggled to stay on par with him. When Giovanni brought out a dynamite, Pikachu zapped it away with his eyes and landed in Clefairy's hands. He ate the dynamite which made him stronger and then defeated Hitmonlee with Mega Punch.
