At Artazon, Brassius asks Scarlet if she is seeking information on the "Ruinous Pokémon." The term surprises her, and she mentions never having heard it before, even from the one who hired her. Nemona is shocked to learn that she is working on behalf of someone else, prompting Scarlet to reiterate that she only hunts for treasure as a profession and not for her own amusement. She explains that she had been emailed by her client to find the treasures of ruin, and was told by them that she could use the faculty at Uva Academy as resources. Having no one in her life to depend on, Scarlet tells the two that she has no other option to support herself than to accept vague requests from strangers. She then mentions that after some clients had deceived her by withholding her payment, she made them pay a price that dissuaded them from ever approaching her again. By doing this, Scarlet built up a reputation that ensured no one would make the mistake of betraying her.

Driven to tears by Scarlet's unfortunate situation, Brassius vows to tell her everything he knows about the Ruinous Pokémon—which is that Hassel once asked him about it, to which he responded that he did not know anything about them. Intrigued by the similarities between the treasures of ruin and the Ruinous Pokémon, Scarlet considers updating her client on that information. She thanks Brassius, who then urges her to return to the academy and speak with Hassel. As she begins to leave, Nemona wonders if Scarlet had taken classes with Dendra due to her high battling score. When she realizes Scarlet has not returned to the academy since her Treasure Hunt began, she comes to the conclusion that she must have been hired by her client after it had already started.

Meanwhile, at South Province (Area Two), Violet and Arven ride on Miraidon's back as it speeds uncontrollably into a wild Hoppip. Angered, the Hoppip attacks them, causing Violet to send out his Fuecoco. Under Violet's command, Fuecoco uses Incinerate to knock out the Hoppip. A light then shines from Fuecoco, and it evolves into Crocalor. While Violet is astonished, Arven is unsurprised, pointing out that Fuecoco has had to fight many wild Pokémon that Miraidon had rammed into since it reacquired its ability to dash. Violet asserts that as the Prince of Speed, he has no reason to slow Miraidon down, prompting Arven to ask what it is that led him to go by that title in the first place. Violet suddenly begins to sob, concerning Arven. Through tears, Violet expresses relief that Arven is asking about his life, as it is a sign they are growing closer as friends.

To answer Arven's question, Rotojī explains that during Violet's childhood, no one was able to catch up to him when he ran across the grounds of the family mansion. For this reason, they began calling him the Prince of Speed. One day, when he was running outside of the mansion, he found a Lechonk, and was unable to overtake its speed. Seeing that Pokémon speeds often surpass those of humans, Violet realized he would need one to become the fastest in the land. In order to figure out which Pokémon would be right for this task, Violet researched with his grandfather, who unfortunately had passed away from an illness during the process.

Moved by the story, Arven becomes determined to train Miraidon to be able to dash without colliding into anything. Violet is about to protest, but Arven insists that he is only trying to help him, calling himself his best friend. Violet is overjoyed at this, and sets off to train with Miraidon. As Arven watches over them, he receives a call from Giacomo, who informs him of the Open Sky Titan located on a mountain in West Province (Area One). Arven is shocked that he would help them out after he and Violet put an end to the Segin Squad, but Giacomo tells him he is grateful for what they did. Before hanging up, he offers to provide additional help if needed, leaving Arven to wonder how someone as level-headed as Giacomo wound up in Team Star to begin with. He and Violet leave on Miraidon's back to follow Giacomo's directions.

As the two make their way to the mountain, they hear a thunder-like sound from higher up. They stumble across two men and ask for directions to the summit, but the men warn them that they saw someone go up toward there without ever coming back down. At that moment, Violet and Arven look up to see the Titan Bombirdier dropping large boulders from the sky. Realizing that the Titan is likely doing this to prevent people from getting closer to the summit, they conclude that there must be Herba Mystica there.

Violet and Arven charge up the mountain, but are quickly overwhelmed by the speed at which the boulders roll. Violet then comes up with an idea, and gets on Miraidon's back with Arven. With the training Violet and Miraidon had done earlier, they are able to dodge the boulders and make their way up the mountain. As they do so, Arven spots an injured woman on the ground and urges Miraidon to stop. When they approach her, they learn that she is a Musician named Mireia. She explains that she usually plays her music by the bottom of the mountain, but since the Titan began to drop its boulders, the number of her listeners decreased significantly. She tried to calm it with her music, but that only seemed to anger it more, leading it to target her with its boulders and injure her.

After advising Mireia to stay hidden, Violet and Arven continue up the mountain. Realizing that Bombirdier keeps its boulders in its apron, Violet decides their next course of action is to get the Titan to let go of it. He sends out Nymble, to Arven's confusion. Nymble shakes in fear, and Arven asserts that it is terrified of Bombirdier due to its type disadvantage, which Violet is aware of. As Violet points out, Nymble's intense fear allows it to jump higher than expected, and it is able to reach Bombirdier. When Nymble's leg collides with Bombirdier's beak, the Titan flinches, causing the apron to slip from its beak and the boulders to drop. The Titan Bombirdier then swoops down toward Arven and Violet, ready to fight.
