History
Pre-series

Orla grew up somewhere in the Kanto region with her childhood friend Friede. However, she moved to the Hoenn region and spent most of her life there, becoming an engineer at a dockyard. Although she found her job enjoyable, Orla wondered if working at the docks was really she wanted to do with her life.
As revealed in Flying Pikachu, Rising Higher and Higher!, Orla reunited with Friede, who contacted her, as he asked her to turn Ludlow's fishing boat into an airship. Orla accepted the task and was able to do it, as she wanted to put her skills to the test. Orla decided to join Friede as payment for making the airship and told him that she was getting bored with her job anyway, as she decided to quit. After deciding to join Friede, Captain Pikachu and Ludlow, Orla became a founding member of the Rising Volt Tacklers. Later, Orla met Murdock, Wy-Yes, and Mollie as they joined the Rising Volt Tacklers. Sometime after Wy-Yes left to become a journalist, Orla met Murdock's niece, Dot, as she joined the team.
Pokémon Horizons: The Series
Orla debuted in The Pendant That Starts It All (Part One) alongside the other members of the Rising Volt Tacklers. She and her teammates were searching for Liko at Indigo Academy, but to no avail. In the following episode, she appeared inside the Brave Olivine's engine room, fueling the airship during the Explorers' pursuit.
In For Sure! 'Cause Sprigatito's with Me!, Orla stayed at the Brave Olivine to repair the power room. At the end of the day, Orla and the rest of the Rising Volt Tacklers took Liko as one of their own.
In Found You, Fuecoco!, Orla briefly battled alongside Murdock against Zirc and Onia. As Roy approached alongside a group of Bug-type wild Pokémon, they ran back to the Brave Olivine to fix its balloon gasbag, leaving Mollie to face off against Zirc. In the next episode, she welcomed Roy after he became part of the group.

In Flying Pikachu, Rising Higher and Higher!, Orla was asked by the younger members as to how Captain Pikachu was able to fly during his battle against Roy in the previous episode, but could’t give them an answer because she didn’t know herself. However, Orla decided to help the younger members get the answers they seek from Friede, which they were able to do as he tells everyone as to how he met Captain Pikachu and the formation of the Rising Volt Tacklers.
In Orla and the Poké Ball Smith, after entering the factory, Orla, being proficient at her job, saw mechanical errors within the factory and helped Karna fix the issues from producing Poké Balls. By helping Karna with many things, Karna suggested that Orla could stay with her to help with repairs, but she refused.

In Song Within the Mist, Orla participated in a plan Friede created in order to lure a Lapras, who happened to be one of Lucius's Pokémon, after they got a led through a ship crew that saw the Transport Pokémon, as their first attempt failed when it didn't come out when a mist appear. As part of Friede's plan, Orla was in the engine room while Ludlow took the wheel. In the next episode, Orla continued helping the team keep up with Lapras and its friends until they were able to find them.
In Respective Departures, Orla attended a surprise party for Diana, as she was planning to resume traveling alone. Once they bid farewell to Diana, the Rising Volt Tacklers resumed their search for the remaining Six Heroes. However, Orla was informed by Friede that they were heading to Paldea first in order to gain information on Terapagos.
In The Plan to Capture Rayquaza, the Brave Olivine was severely damaged during a confrontation between the Explorers and the Black Rayquaza. While the ship underwent repairs, Liko, Roy, and Dot decided to become stronger by learning how to use the Terastal phenomenon.
In The Treasure of Eternity, Orla revealed to Friede that she was halfway done with the repairs to the Brave Olivine and was planning to make improvements to the airship.
In Into a New Sky! The Brave Olivine!, it was revealed that Orla managed to finish the repairs on the Brave Olivine, adding some improvements in the engine room which she showed to Liko, Roy, and Dot. Shortly after, she witnessed the battles between the three children and the Six Heroes.
In The Earthshaking White Zygarde, Orla, along with Elekid, stayed in the cockpit of the Brave Olivine and away from the other Rising Volt Tacklers, tensely waiting for contact from Friede and the others, and afraid of the whole situation, she looked towards the ship's emergency button. In the next episode, Orla, along with the other Rising Volt Tacklers, went to the rescue of Liko, Roy, Friede and Dot during the destruction of Laqua. Seeing that the situation was getting more complicated, Orla pressed the emergency button, which caused Brave Olivine to become its Infinite Rising mode and gain an extra boost. Soon after that, Orla decided to help everyone return to the ship and, along with Liko, Roy and Dot, saw Friede and Charizard fall from the ship to an unknown whereabouts. Orla and the others eventually returned to Mount Pericarp to look for Friede, only to find that Exceed had the area blocked off. With Spinel framing Laqua's destruction on the Rising Volt Tacklers, the group decided to lay low and go their separate ways.
As revealed by Roy in Eyes to the Skies Once Again, Part 2, one year after the events in Laqua, Orla and the other Rising Volt Tacklers disbanded.

Orla returned to Galar with the Brave Olivine. She claimed she would dismantle the airship, but later found herself unable to bring herself to do it. Instead, she left it intact so the wild Pokémon that once made it their home would still have a place to live. She also routinely returned to provide maintenance so the airship would remain in working condition. Orla would also go back to Karna's factory and started working for her.
In Orla, Grounded, Liko, Roy, Dot, and their new friend Ult traveled to Karna's factory, where they informed Orla that they reformed the Rising Volt Tacklers. The children asked Orla to build them a new airship so they could more effectively combat the Explorers' newest scheme and clear their names. Still traumatized from the loss of Friede, Orla refused and told them to ask someone else. Later, after some words of encouragement from Karna and Liko's group, Orla came to realize she had been stuck in the past and was too afraid to move on. A loud sound that came from the factory interrupted them, which they found was because Ult discovered that Karna was asked by Exceed to manufacture Strong Sphere shells for them. Orla and Karna then watched as Liko and the others faced Indi and Rubina, a pair of Explorers Trainers who intended on taking the shells with them. In the following episode, after Liko and the others won their battle, Orla was convinced to fly on the airship once again and worked with Liko, Roy, Dot, and Ult to clean the Brave Olivine. Orla called Murdock and Mollie, who also rejoined the group. To everyone's surprise, Ult proudly stated he would be joining the Rising Volt Tacklers as their newest member. As they prepared to take off, Dot discovered a message from Friede revealing to everyone that he was alive and well, but was in hiding from the Explorers. Learning that Friede was alive caused Orla to cry tears of joy while Mollie comforted her.
In HZ121, Orla and the others received a message from Friede, who revealed that he was on his way back after having spent some time in space. His return trip did not go according to plan, as the return module he was inside of suffered several malfunctions, causing it to go off-trajectory with the built-in parachutes no longer working. Acting quickly, Orla had Metagross use its supercomputer-like brain to calculate exactly where the module would land. Together, the Rising Volt Tacklers combined their Pokémon's moves to slow the module's descent, but this inadvertently pushed it away from the airship. At this moment, Captain Pikachu rushed in and, due to Pagogo's Terastal energy, Terastallized into a Flying type, allowing him to catch the module and bring it back. Friede reunited with the others and introduced them to Instructor Starmie, his newest team member.
In HZ126, the Rising Volt Tacklers returned to Paldea. Due to Spinel tricking the general public into thinking the Rising Volt Tacklers were criminals who attacked the Explorers headquarters, Orla and the others were force to keep a low profile. With Iono's help, Orla managed to keep the Brave Olivine hidden in a dockyard at Levincia. While Liko, Roy, Dot, and Ult worked to keep Naranja Academy from selling Strong Spheres, Orla promised that she would further upgrade the Brave Olivine so that when they returned to Mount Pericarp, it would be able to ascend the area without issue.
Character

Orla is welcoming, as seen in For Sure! 'Cause Sprigatito's with Me!, when it was revealed she lent her room to Liko to stay for the night before she was even part of the Rising Volt Tacklers. She was also the first long-time member of the group who welcomed Roy after he became one of them. Orla also seems to be close with Friede as they have been friends since childhood. Despite being apart for many years, Orla's friendship with Friede remained strong, as she accepted his request to build an airship and decided to travel with him as payment. Orla also doesn't get upset with Friede's absent mind and tendency to forget things too often. In addition, Orla gets along well with the rest of her teammates, especially Mollie.

Orla is also diligent and hard-working, responsible for observing any possible damages done to the Brave Olivine and reporting on them. She can overexert herself while working on the repairs, such as seen in Found You, Fuecoco! when she stayed up during the night in an attempt to patch up the holes on the airship's gasbag. Orla also doesn't complain when her teammates tell her that there is a problem on the airship, as she understands that they need her help and happily does the work.
She is skillful at her own profession, but seems to be rather clumsy outside of it.
In the one year since the Rising Volt Tacklers disbanded and Friede seemingly met his end, Orla has since become much more withdrawn and quiet, always having a somewhat gloomy expression in her face and clearly still struggling with the events that transpired at Mount Pericarp. When Liko, Roy, and Dot arrived to request the Brave Olivine, as well as sharing their intentions to reform the Rising Volt Tacklers, Orla was surprised and somewhat upset, later admitting she would never fly on the airship again nor go on another adventure simply because Friede was gone and she refused to move on without him. However, after realizing she's been dwelling in the past and knowing Friede wouldn't want her to keep stuck in such a dark place, she finally overcame these negative feelings and decided to try and work to return to her old self.
Pokémon

Orla's team consists of Pokémon who help her in the engine room and with repairs on the airship. However, Orla only uses her Metagross in battle as it's her strongest Pokémon.
