Release information

This card was included in the Scarlet & Violet expansion as a Mirage Holofoil card with artwork by Kouki Saitou. A Non Holofoil print was available in the English Ampharos ex Battle Deck starting May 5, 2023. In Japan, it was one of eight SV-P Promotional cards available in Let's Start Playing Pokémon Card Game Campaign Promo Card Packs, which were given to customers who purchased at least 10 packs of Scarlet ex or Violet ex at select retailers starting January 20, 2023.[1] It was also one of the four possible cards available in ex Starter Set Fuecoco & Ampharos ex Promo Card Packs and ex Starter Set Pikachu ex & Pawmot Promo Card Packs. The Japanese version of this print is Mirror Holofoil. This card was reprinted in Japan for the 2023 World Championships Yokohama Deck: Pikachu.

A Full Art SVP Black Star Promo with artwork by Akira Komayama was made available in the Miraidon version of the Scarlet & Violet Elite Trainer Box. A second version with the Pokémon Center logo above the Retreat Cost was available in the Miraidon version of the Scarlet & Violet Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box. This print was released in Japan as a Holofoil SV-P Promotional card available at Triplet Beat Sealed Battle events held at participating Pokémon Card Gym locations starting March 10, 2023.[2] Entrants of these Sealed Battles received 15 Triplet Beat booster packs and two promotional cards upon paying the entry fee. These promotional cards comprised a copy of Rare Candy and a random copy of Nemona from two possible prints. Entrants were required to use cards obtained from their booster packs, any quantity of Basic Energy (provided by the venue), plus the two promotional cards and construct a 40-card deck to use in games with four Prize cards. Groups of up to four players would compete in round-robin mini tournaments, the winner of which received a Sealed Battle Promo Card Pack containing either a copy of this card or a Full Art Koraidon card. Each event concluded with a Rock-Paper-Scissors tournament, the winner of which also received a Sealed Battle Promo Card Pack.[2]

A special Triplet Beat Sealed Battle event was live-streamed on video platforms Niconico and YouTube on March 12, 2023, which featured a 4-player knockout tournament comprising TCG personalities followed by four exhibition matches. The personalities were dressed in attire emulating the Naranja and Uva Academy uniforms and the first round draw was determined by matching randomly assigned color cards. The tournament winner was awarded a Sealed Battle Promo Card Pack. The exhibition matches saw each personality challenge a guest TCG player, with the victor of each game earning a Triplet Beat booster box. Viewers could also enter a competition by following the Twitter accounts of the official Pokémon Card Channel and its presenters Raichu Umekawa, Nanapple, Kucheat Takeuchi, and Yopifoot, and Tweet messages of support with the hashtag #ポケカシールド戦で遊ぼ, play in the Pokéca Sealed Battle. Three winners were selected by lottery, each of which received a Sealed Battle Promo Card Pack and a Triplet Beat booster box.[3]

The SVP Black Star Promotional print of this card was released in Indonesia and Thailand on January 26, 2024, as part of a promo pack available with every purchase of 1 box of the Shiny Treasure ex subset.
