Meiji released eight different promotional sets between 1997 and 2002. The earlier sets are often called "rock-paper-scissors" cards, as they feature a hand used to play the game with cards. The final two sets to not feature rock-paper-scissors elements.

Meiji packaged Pokémon Trading Card Game cards with their chocolate from 2004 to 2008, rather than continue producing unique cards that were separate from the TCG. All Meiji TCG cards can be distinguished by the red Meiji logo in their bottom left corner.

Meiji also made 3 less known sticker sets, although these were produced in very little numbers.
