A code for 50 Nuggets was distributed to players of Pokémon Legends: Arceus who purchased the official guide book of this game in Japanese from April 16, 2022. It is possible to redeem this gift multiple times on the same save file, provided different valid codes are used. These codes expire on May 31, 2023.

The Member Card was distributed in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl via mystery gift for the duration of a single Lunar cycle (lunation 1228), which ran for 29 days, 14 hours, and 4 minutes between the new moons on April 1 at 6:24 (UTC) and April 30, 2022 at 20:28 (UTC). It can be used to catch Darkrai after obtaining the National Pokédex. The end time of the distribution coincides with a partial solar eclipse and the start of lunation 1229.

Pokémon Center Alcremie Sweets
Starting from November 1, 2021 to October 31, 2022, Trainers could get item packs containing either a Strawberry Sweet, Berry Sweet, Love Sweet, Clover Sweet, Flower Sweet, Star Sweet, or Ribbon Sweet at random from local wireless at Pokémon Center stores in Japan. Only one sweet package could be received daily, although it was possible to receive multiple item packs over multiple days. the Star Sweet and Ribbon Sweet packs each had a 5% chance to be redeemed, while the remaining 5 other packs each had a 18% chance.

Gigantamax Pikachu and Eevee Dynamax Crystals
These Dynamax Crystals, named ★Sgr6746 and ★Sgr7194, were distributed from October 10 to 24, 2021 via serial code exclusively through Best Buy in the US. When used, a Pokémon Den at the Watchtower Ruins becomes active with a GigantamaxPikachu and Eevee, respectively. Both of these Pokémon came knowing Celebrate and Wish and had their Hidden Abilities. These codes expired on January 31, 2022.

This Life Orb was distributed via password from May 15 to 16, 2021 to commemorate Korean Spring Single Tournament, with the password being revealed on its official live stream.

Pokémon Adventure 25 items
These items were distributed to players in South Korea during the "Pokémon Adventure, Catch the Mythical Pokémon!" (포켓몬 어드벤처, 환상의 포켓몬을 잡아라!) campaign that ran from April 26 to September 30, 2021. Players could earn points by buying participating Pokémon merchandise, which could then be used to exchange for serial codes on the official website. This was similar to the "Mythical Pokémon Get Challenge" that had previously run in Japan in 2020, though it uses different Wonder Cards.
The number of points entered determined what type of serial code was received; one point resulted in a Genesect code, five resulted in a ten Dynite Ore code, ten resulted in a Poké Ball Set 1 (Fast Ball, Level Ball, and Love Ball) code, 13 resulted in a Volcanion code, 16 resulted in ten Dynite Ores code, 20 resulted in a Poké Ball Set 2 (Moon Ball, Heavy Ball, Friend Ball, and Lure Ball) code, 23 resulted in a Marshadow code, 27 resulted in a Poké Ball Set 3 (Safari Ball and Sport Ball) code, and 30 points resulted in a Master Ball code.
It should be noted that as with the Japanese event, the codes from the Dynite Ore were rewarded for turning in 5 and 16 scraps respectively, despite generating the same reward pull from different Wonder Cards. In practice, this meant that to receive 20 Dynite Ore, a player needed to redeem both a code from turning in 5 scraps and a code from turning in 16 scraps. It was not possible to redeem two codes from redeeming five scraps on the same save file. The same could be said about redeeming two codes from redeeming 16 scraps on the same save.

Player's Cup III items
These items were distributed via passwords to commemorate the Pokémon Players Cup III tournament, with the passwords being revealed on its official live streams.
A Dream Ball was distributed from April 10 to 12, 2021 during the regional finals. A Weakness Policy was distributed from April 23 to 26, 2021 during the global finals.

Gigantamax Flapple and Appletun Dynamax Crystal
This Dynamax Crystal, named ★Sgr6913, was distributed from March 19 to April 19, 2021 via serial code exclusively through online stores in Europe. When used, a Pokémon Den at the Watchtower Ruins becomes active with a GigantamaxFlapple in Pokémon Shield or Gigantamax Appletun in Pokémon Sword. Flapple has guaranteed maximum IVs in HP, Attack and Speed, and Appletun has guaranteed maximum in HP, Defense and Special Attack. The codes expired on July 31, 2021.

Gigantamax Pikachu Max Raid Battle items
These items were distributed from March 2 to 14, 2021 to celebrate players defeating 874,808 GigantamaxPikachu during the Pokémon DayMax Raid Battle event from February 26 to 28, 2021. Although the target was one million victories rewarding 100 Armorite Ore and Dynite Ore, the rewards were reduced because of the target not being reached.

This Gold Bottle Cap was distributed via password from December 11 to 14, 2020 to commemorate the Pokémon Players Cup II tournament, with the password being revealed on its official live stream.

Japanese Pokemon Scraps 2020
These items were distributed to players who entered the codes from the "Mythical Pokémon Get Challenge" (幻のポケモンゲットチャレンジ) onto the official site in exchange for a serial code. Pokémon Scraps could be found in participating types of Pokémon merchandise starting on November 20, 2020.
The number of codes entered determined what type of serial code was received; one Pokémon Scrap resulted in a Genesect code, five resulted in a code for ten pieces of Dynite Ore, ten resulted in a code for Poké Ball Set 1 (consisting of a Fast Ball, a Level Ball, and a Love Ball), 13 resulted in a Volcanion code, 16 resulted in a code for ten pieces of Dynite Ore, 20 resulted in a code for Poké Ball Set 2 (consisting of a Moon Ball, a Heavy Ball, a Friend Ball, and a Lure Ball), 23 resulted in a Marshadow code, 27 resulted in a code for Poké Ball Set 3 (consisting of a Safari Ball and a Sport Ball), and 30 resulted in a Master Ball code. The serial codes could be redeemed from November 20, 2020 to April 30, 2021.

50 Big Nuggets
These Big Nuggets were distributed on twitter to those who retweeted a tweet posted each day between November 6th and 10th, 2020 by the Poké Times Twitter account to commemorate the release of The Crown Tundra DLC, and replying with your favourite Pokémon among those mentioned in the tweet. 2,000 codes were distributed daily by lottery for a total of 10,000 codes distributed. If selected, the Poké Times campaign reply twitter account would notify the winners.

These 100 Poké Balls were distributed from November 6, 2020 as a purchase bonus for any players of the Pokémon Sword or Shield + Expansion Pass bundles. They were distributed by a personalised code sent via email (or included in the box in the retail bundle) and are received alongside the existing Pikachu and Eevee Uniforms available for purchasing the Expansion Pass. Ranked Battle Season 2 & 3 BP
To coincide with the start of Season 2 of Pokémon Sword and Shield's Ranked Battles, a password for 20 BP was released from December 24, 2019 to January 30, 2020 via Nintendo Switch's Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield Channel in its internal news system.
A second password for an additional 20 BP was released from January 3 to February 27, 2020 via Nintendo Switch's Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield Channel in its internal news system.
A third password for yet another additional 20 BP to commemorate the third season was released from February 6 to March 30, 2020.

To coincide with a holiday update to the Wild Area News featuring Delibird, a password for ten Luxury Balls was distributed. Players could use the password from December 20, 2019 to January 30, 2020.

Poké Times rare Poké Balls
As part of a campaign by the Poké Times Twitter run by The Pokémon Company, the handle was taken over by the Ball Guy. During this time, the Twitter posted this retweet campagin, promising rare Poké Balls if players retweeted it enough times. Within 8 hours, all goals were met, and a set of nine total Poké Balls, including the Apricorn Balls, Dream Ball, and Beast Ball, were distributed via three password. All passwords expired on January 15, 2020.

Battle Competition 50 BP
50 BP have been the default reward for participating in a battle competition event when no other reward is offered for a specific competition. It was first distributed as a reward for participating in the Galar Beginnings Competition on December 9, 2019, with the final event being the Ultimate Finale on October 31, 2022. The BP reward can only be redeemed once per event and requires participation in a minimum of three battles during the respective event.
As each redemption is authenticated against the respective tournament ID, this Mystery Gift reward can be redeemed multiple times when participating in multiple events. If a player participated in every qualifying event during the game's lifespan between December 2019 and October 2022, they could redeem this gift 29 times, though two of these events were limited to participants residing in Japan.

Between November 15, 2019 and October 31, 2021, Trainers could get one of the following six packs (at random) from local wireless at Pokémon Center stores in Japan. Players could only receive one pack a day but could redeem the event multiple times over multiple days.

In Italy, it was distributed to players who bought Sword or Shield from Gamestop.
In Australia, it was distributed to players who pre-ordered Sword or Shield from EB Games.
In the United States, it was distributed in Wal-Marts through Pokémon Pass and QR codes from November 15 to 25, 2019. Up to three codes can be generated per Pokémon Trainer Club account, and the code was usable until February 24, 2020.

The ★And15, grants one-day access to a Max Raid Battle with a Larvitar, while the ★And458, activated the chance to battle a Jangmo-o. While these codes were intended to be used to help players gain the base forms of pseudo-legendary Pokémon that cannot otherwise be found in the wild in their respective versions, the codes are not restricted by the game, and can each be used in either game. The codes do not have a known expiration date.
