List of locations by index number (Generation VIII)

Each location in the Generation VIII games has its own identification number used internally by the game. They are enumerated here, in order. Locations with alternate names have their alternate names listed as an index number after the main location. Locations lacking an alternate name have the following index number blank. Index numbers between 00248 and 30000, 30020 and 40000, 40087 and 60000, and above 60004 are filled with null data.
Pokémon transferred to a Generation VIII game that were originally obtained in a Generation VII game or earlier will display their met location as their origin game's region (e.g. "the Kanto region"). Pokémon transferred from Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl or Pokémon Legends: Arceus to Pokémon Sword and Shield will display their met location as from "the Faraway place".
Pokémon transferred from Sword and Shield to Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl or Legends: Arceus will display their met location as "the Galar region". Pokémon transferred from Legends: Arceus to Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl will display their met location as the "Sinnoh region of old". Pokémon transferred from Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl to Legends: Arceus will display their met location as "the Sinnoh region made new".[1]
