List of event Pokémon distributions in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
This is a reverse-chronological list of event Pokémon distributions that were given away via the various Mystery Gift function in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. A subscription to Nintendo Switch Online is not required to claim Mystery Gifts on Nintendo Switch games. Mystery Gift is found in the Poké Portal menu, once the feature is unlocked after talking to Nemona at the Los Platos Pokémon Center.
Events can be distributed to the game in 3 ways: Internet events can be received without the need to input any password or serial code. Serial "codes" are one-time use codes. "Passwords" are codes that can be used by any number of people, but are usually limited to one redemption per save file.
Prior to patch 2.0.1, Pokémon redeemed in Generation IX would always have a secret ID of 0000 (unless they were set to use the receiving player's Trainer ID). Historically, the secret ID was identical to the Wonder Card ID, and the Wonder Card data for Generation IX still defines the secret ID as the Wonder Card ID; however, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet version 1.3.2 and earlier was programmed to nullify this when the Wonder Card ID was equal to the Secret ID.
Some Patches changed how the game reads Wonder Card data, as such a Pokémon redeemed before these patches may have different characteristics than a Pokémon redeemed after these patches:
Patch 1.2.0 (released February 27, 2023) affected how scale data is read on the Wonder Card, before this patch all Pokémon received through Mystery Gift would have their scale value assigned randomly between 0 and 255 upon redemption. With the Patch Blocks were added to the Wonder Card data to enable the scale value to be fixed, which most events post this patch take advantage of.
Patch 1.3.0 (released April 20, 2023) affected how nicknames are assigned. Prior to the patch, if a specific nickname was not defined in the Wonder Card, a Pokémon's nickname would default to the default name of the Pokémon in the language that the player receiving the event is playing in. With this patch, unless defined otherwise in the Wonder Card, a Pokémon's nickname will always default to the Pokémon's name that would be expected based on the origin language of the Pokémon redeemed (e.g., a Japanese Pikachu on an English save would have a default nickname of "Pikachu" before 1.3.0 and "ピカチュウ" after the patch).

Paldea's Shiny Legendary Paradox Pokémon
In commemoration of the upcoming launch of Pokémon Legends: Z-A, these Shiny Pokémon were distributed to players of various countries who input a serial code that was given away at various retailers. The code's are shared, the Pokémon received depends on the version of the game the code is input into. Players of Pokémon Scarlet received Miraidon, while players of Pokémon Violet received Koraidon. These Pokémon were distributed between September 26, 2025 and October 15, 2025; while all codes expired on October 23, 2025.
Serial codes from The Netherlands, Japan and South Korea (i.e. serial codes that start with the letter "J" or "K" as well as some codes starting with "E") were specific to the game, and would present an error if put into the wrong version. However, two codes (1 for each game) were given in the distributed pamphlets. Serial codes issued in other regions do not have this restriction.
In the United States, many GameStop stores reported shortages and ran out of codes relatively soon after the event started. On October 4, GameStop was provided with a second batch. GameStop stated that The Pokémon Company International was responsible for the low number of codes.[1]

A zero-width space character is present at the end of Patrick's Trainer name.[2][3] This character is not possible to enter on any version of the Nintendo Switch keyboard. Because of this invalid character, trading this Pokémon triggers the "badword filter"/anti-cheat measures, causing the Trainer name to be overwritten.[4] This effect occurs in Pokémon HOME, and Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, although the result varies:
If traded in HOME, the resulting name will become "HOME".
If traded in Brilliant Diamond or Shining Pearl, the resulting name will differ depending on the game version and savefile language of the recipient.

Two codes were distributed to players who showed proof of ownership for both Scarlet and Violet. Players can use these single use codes in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. This Pokémon was guaranteed to either have a Scale value of either 0 or 255, granting the Mini or Jumbo mark respectively when presented to the hiker in West Mesagoza. It holds TM025 granting the move Facade. In addition to many other references to 25, it has 25 IVs and EVs in every stat.

Pokémon Center Birthday Flabébé
Japanese Pokémon Center promotional banner
This Flabébé was distributed via serial code to players of all Generation IX games at Pokémon Center stores across Japan and Singapore if they visited during the month of their birthday, but only if they provided proof of their date of birth and Nintendo Switch. The codes were distributed from November 1, 2022 to October 31, 2023. Players can use these single use codes in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. This Pokémon has Japanese tags unless redeemed in an English game. Flabébé's nickname isn't locked; as such, this can glitch when redeemed on Chinese or Korean save files.
Due to a glitch, if this Flabébé is claimed in a savefile with a language other than English or Japanese, the nickname becomes locked to its base Evolution's name, even if evolved to Floette.[6]
Flabébé's Wonder Card was replaced on February 3, 2023 at approximately 10:30 UTC at the same time as that of the Flying Terastal Pikachu. Unlike Pikachu, when this happened, Flabébé's height and weight values remained unchanged. This was done, due to a change in how patch 1.2.0 handles scale values:[7] the old Wonder Card would have locked Flabébé's scale value to 29 had it still been live when patch 1.2.0 launched. With this change, Flabebé's scale value remains randomly generated.

Flying Terastal Pikachu
Terastallized Pikachu Promotional art
ThisPikachu with a Tera type of Flying can be received in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet via Mystery Gift as an early purchase gift from November 18, 2022 to February 28, 2023. This Pikachu knows the move Fly. Despite the player being its original Trainer, it cannot be nicknamed.
Pikachu redeemed prior to February 3, 2023 could only be male and had both height and weight values fixed at 128; however, the size value, (which determines actual model size and Mini/Jumbo Mark eligibility), was not fixed to any specific value.
On February 3rd at approximately 10:30 UTC, Pikachu's Wonder Card was replaced. Any Pikachu redeemed after this time was no longer gender-locked to be exclusively male, and now had a chance to be female. Additionally, Pikachu redeemed after this point also have both height and weight values of 0 rather than 128. This replacement Wonder Card also mitigated the effect of a change in how patch 1.2.0 handles scale values:[8] the old Wonder Card would have locked Pikachu's scale value to 29 for the final day of the distribution had it still been live when patch 1.2.0 launched. With this change, Pikachu's scale value remained randomly generated.
