Levincia in Pokémon Horizons: The Series

Pokémon Horizons: The Series

Levincia first appeared in An Unexpected Picnic!, where the city could be seen from the cliff where the Rising Volt Tacklers had their picnic.

In Fly! Wattrel!!, Liko and Murdock went to Levincia to do some shopping. A bit later, Friede confronted Spinel's Beheeyem and Magneton elsewhere in the city, succeeding in driving them off after Terastallizing his Charizard. At the end of the episode, Spinel set up a trap for Liko and used his Beheeyem to put her in a trance while stealing her pendant.

In Someone We Can't See! Whosawhatsit?, Dot enlisted Iono's help in finding Liko, who had temporarily forgotten about the Rising Volt Tacklers due to Spinel's Beheeyem. With Iono's help, Liko was quickly found by the citizens of Levincia, allowing Roy and Dot to reunite with her, by which time she had recovered her memories. As they reunited with Friede and realized Liko's pendant was gone, they set out to get it back. In the next episode, Liko, Roy, and Dot confronted Spinel aboard a cargo ship leaving Levincia and managed to get the pendant back.

In Welcome to Naranja Academy!, the Brave Olivine, which had gotten severely damaged during the Rising Volt Tacklers' recent confrontation with the Explorers and the Black Rayquaza, was revealed to be docked at Levincia, with Orla working on repairing it while Friede was staying at a local hotel in the meantime.

In Dot and Nidothing, Liko, Roy, and Dot arrived back in Levincia for Dot's Tera Training test against Iono. At first, Dot felt very nervous about having a public battle and planned to instead face Iono as Nidothing, but following a battle against a wild Varoom, she worked up the courage to face Iono as herself. The test battle took place in the following episode. Although Dot lost the battle, Iono still gave her a passing grade for Dot having enjoyed the battle and been true to herself during it. Following a brief talk with Clavell, the trio headed back to Naranja Academy.

In The Treasure of Eternity, Friede was revealed to have once worked at a company called Exceed, whose office building is located in Levincia. He returned to the building to find out more about a project called "Treasure of Eternity", only to find out that the company's only sample of the mineral researched by the project, called Laquium, had already been taken by someone else. The culprit behind Laquium's disappearance was Spinel, though Friede was too busy escaping from security guards to notice him.

In The Terapagos I Don't Know, Ludlow was seen watching over the Rising Volt Tacklers' Pokémon near the Brave Olivine when he discovered a Gimmighoul Coin, though it quickly disappeared from his palm.

In Nidothing Love!, Nidothing and Iono held a collaborative event where several fans of the two streamers gathered in Levincia's Central Square.

Scarlet & Violet arc

Levincia first appeared in PASV11, where Scarlet and Nemona arrived there following an invitation from Scarlet's client. While waiting to meet the client, Nemona was able to convince Scarlet to take on the Levincia Gym and don a disguise to avoid people watching Iono's live stream from recognizing her as a treasure hunter. Due to Clavell being unavailable to fulfill the role of "Mr. Walksabout" during Iono's Gym Test, his role was instead given to Uva Academy teachers Salvatore, Jacq, and Raifort. After passing the test, Scarlet started battling Iono, with Rika and Geeta observing the match from closeby. Scarlet eventually won the battle, though Nemona was confused as to why the battle had been much closer than Scarlet's previous Gym battles. Scarlet explained that, in exchange for a buffet meal, Iono had requested she'd give her a battle that her fans would like, which she had agreed to.

While Nemona battled Iono herself, Scarlet left to find her client, who turned out to be Raifort, Uva Academy's history teacher. Since Scarlet had found out that the treasures of ruin that Raifort had hired her to search for were actually Pokémon, Raifort explained that she wished for the Pokémon to be found and caught before they could potentially break free to cause chaos. Scarlet agreed on the condition that a child she knew got enrolled in the academy. Raifort agreed, but also told Scarlet that she'd need the help of Violet's Iron Serpent in order to unseal the treasures of ruin. At the end of their conversation, Scarlet was contacted by Mela, who wanted her to run security for Schedar Squad's Base.

When Team Star tried to tire Violet out with repeated battles on his way to Schedar Squad's Base, he decided to visit Levincia to don a disguise, fooling Team Star Grunts into thinking he had given up and allowing him to make his way to the base without further obstructions.

It was first released in the Japanese Battle Partners expansion and the English Journey Together expansion, with artwork by MARINA Chikazawa. A hyper rare version of the card with artwork by the same illustrator was included in the Japanese Hot Wind Arena subset and the English Destined Rivals expansion. It allows players to put up to 2 Basic Lightning (Lightning) Energy cards from their discard pile into their hand.

Trivia

Origin

Main article: Pokémon world in relation to the real world → Paldea

As a large seaside city featuring modern buildings and towering high-rises situated along Paldea's eastern coastline, Levincia may be based on the Spanish port city of Valencia, located on the eastern coast of the Iberian Peninsula and famed for the City of Arts and Sciences.

The skyscraper complex in Levincia appears to be based on the Cuatro Torres Business Area in Madrid, containing four of the tallest skyscrapers in Spain.
