History

In The Stolen Treasure, Karna was an unseen character, negotiating with Tepen over the phone for one of the Ancient Poké Balls that belonged to Liko and Roy. This situation made Liko, Roy, and Friede think that everything was a scheme created by the Explorers. When the situation was resolved, Tepen revealed the real identity of his contractor and where her warehouse was located.
In Orla and the Poké Ball Smith, Karna met Orla, Friede, Liko, and Roy when one of their machines malfunctioned. Roy showed her the Poké Ball belonging to the Black Rayquaza in his possession, but she didn't know anything useful. As the day went on, Karna and Orla repaired the machines in Karna's workshop, who suggested that Orla start helping Karna permanently. When a group of Galarian Weezing went on rampage, Karna and Orla joined forces to increase the factory's production so that the Poison Gas Pokémon can feed on the pollution generated by the chimneys. After everything returned to normal, Orla revealed to Karna that she couldn't help her, and Karna understood, but gave Orla one of her creations, a special Poké Ball.

During the year after the events in Laqua, Orla accepted Karna's offer and moved in with her in Galar, though Karna noted that Orla's personality was different. In Orla, Grounded, it was revealed that she was also hired by Exceed to create some custom pieces whose purpose was not revealed to her. Upon learning the truth from the Rising Volt Tacklers when they reunited with Orla, Karna decided to end her collaboration with the company despite their insistence that it was safe.
In the next episode, Karna watched Liko, Roy, Dot, and Ult's battle against Indi and Rubina, when they defeated the duo, Karna assured them that she would take care of disposing of the prototypes. When Orla managed to complete the repairs on the Brave Olivine and the Rising Volt Tacklers were ready to depart, Orla bid farewell to Karna who said that she knew this moment would come, before leaving, Orla handed Karna a custom Poké Ball made by her, which Karna thanked for being something unique and made with passion.
Character
Despite the misunderstanding in their first interaction, Karna is a good person, quickly becoming friends with the Rising Volt Tacklers, especially Orla, which made them closer to each other with common goals. She also takes pride in her work, especially if they are being used for good causes and refuses to be a part of sinister machinations. This is shown in Orla, Grounded, when she immediately sided with the Rising Volt Tacklers upon learning her work was causing Pokémon to suffer.
