Jacinthe
Jacinthe (Japanese: ユカリ Yukari) is a character from Pokémon Legends: Z-A. She is the leader of the Lumiose Society of Battle Connoisseurs (SBC), an upper-class organization dedicated to Pokémon battling. She specializes in Fairy-type Pokémon.

Appearance
Jacinthe is a svelte, elegant woman with very dark complexion and wide, sparkling eyes. Her eyelashes are black, but her eyebrows and hair are a light lilac color. Her hair is very voluminous and reaches down to her thighs, and is parted into two giant, spiraling curls that flank a smaller middle curl on the back.
Jacinthe's attire, described by an NPC as a one-of-a-kind haute couture, is a tight-fitting light purple dress with puffy shoulders, full-length sleeves, and a knee-length skirt. Her sleeves are wider at the wrists, and the whole of her dress is decorated with white lace patterns on the hems of the wrists, around the waist, and on the collar and chest area. A golden flower brooch with an opalescent gem is set on the center of the collar. Jacinthe also wears white gloves with yellow ribbons on the wrists, white fishnet stockings with yellow sequins, and light purple high-heels with six-petaled, fairy-like decors on the vamps. On her left index finger, she has a ring with the SBC logo over her glove. Finally, Jacinthe wears a pillbox-style fascinator on the left side of her head — it has the same fairy-like decor as her shoes on one side, but more ornately designed, and her Key Stone is set in the center.
Personality
As one of Lumiose City's upper-class elites, Jacinthe maintains a graceful and polite demeanor to the people around her. However, she also tends to have an inflated ego and no sense of personal boundaries, and often refuses to take no for an answer — when Team MZ had to leave Jacinthe's tournament early to deal with cases of Rogue Mega Evolutions, Jacinthe proclaims that her tournament is equally as important and asks Team MZ to return to her posthaste. Jacinthe does not take well to being slighted or disrespected, and although she never loses her temper even when irritated, she may retaliate severely, such as when she cordons off Hotel Z inside her own "Jacinthe zone" after Urbain/Taunie dismisses her tournament.
Jacinthe enjoys Pokémon battles and leads the Society of Battle Connoisseurs with the aim to promote growth, appreciation, and understanding between Trainers and Pokémon through battles. She believes that as an elite socialite, she is responsible to guide the masses and teach fellow Pokémon Trainers to be the strongest they can be. She also does not stand by when Lumiose City is in danger, as during the Ange crisis, she helps the player by developing plans to reach Zygarde, and working behind the scenes with the mayor and other government forces to defend the city. On the other hand, despite Jacinthe's noble ambitions, she also loves to flaunt her status and engage in ridiculous attempts at expanding her social influence and her upper class status, such as attempting to buy Prism Tower or proclaiming in the post-game that she wishes to rename Lumiose City to "Jacinthe City".
In the English localization of the game, Jacinthe's dialogues incorporates French words such as "bienvenue" (welcome) and "alors" (well then), much like NPC dialogue in Pokémon X and Y, reflecting the fact that Kalos as a whole is based on France.
History
Background
Prior the events of Pokémon Legends: Z-A, Jacinthe was tutored in Pokémon battles by Diantha and Korrina also speculates that Diantha's Gardevoir may inspire Jacinthe's love for Fairy types. 2 years prior to the game, Jacinthe defeated Lebanne in a battle, and subsequently recruited her as her personal right-hand woman. Lebanne mentioned that Jacinthe had her keep her promise by forcing her to wear her current outfit and act fancy in Jacinthe's presence.
Pokémon Legends: Z-A
Jacinthe is first mentioned by name during Main Mission 20: "A Request from the Rust Syndicate", by the members of her Society of Battle Connoisseurs after Corbeau tasks the player to stop them from giving unwanted lectures to children. Jacinthe is properly introduced after the player reaches Rank C in the Z-A Royale. Recognizing the many rising stars in the Z-A Royale, Jacinthe personally invites the player, Urbain/Taunie, Canari, Tarragon, Ivor, Gwynn, Philippe, and Corbeau to participate in a tournament she created by and for her, which she dubs "Le Super-Tournoi de Jacinthe" (Japanese: スーパーユカリトーナメント Super Yukari Tournament). Before the tournament can begin, however, Urbain/Taunie is informed by Vinnie of imminent cases of Rogue Mega Evolution, causing them and the player to leave the venue early, despite Lebanne's warning.
Jacinthe eventually comes to crash Team MZ's Rogue Mega Evolution strategy meeting, insisting that the player and Urbain/Taunie join her tournament and refusing to accept Urbain/Taunie's request to disqualify them, before leaving Team MZ with a warning to not take her lightly. As Team MZ's members battle the Rogue Mega-Evolved Froslass, Altaria, and Venusaur, Jacinthe keeps appearing after each battle using a unique pink holographic avatar to remind Team MZ to join her tournament, going as far as threatening to take over Hotel Z if they take too long. Jacinthe eventually makes good on her threat when she cordons off Hotel Z inside her so-called "Jacinthe zone", using a personal pink holo-tech barrier to surround the hotel perimeter. Jacinthe also sics her SBC fellows and her right-hand woman Lebanne to battle Team MZ in order to coerce them to join the tournament, although Team MZ already states they'll join the tournament anyway, making the threat moot. At the same time, the Z-A Royale app on the player's phone announces that Jacinthe serves as the player's opponent in their Z-A Royale promotion match to Rank B.
As the player and Urbain/Taunie return to Hotel Richissime, Canari reveals that she and the other guests of the tournament were unable to leave the hotel due to a Jacinthe zone set up inside while Team MZ were fighting the Rogue Mega-Evolved Pokémon. Nevertheless, now that all the participants are present, Jacinthe proclaims her Le Super-Tournoi de Jacinthe open, and puts herself as the top seed for the grand finals. The tournament commences as planned, although not without a surprise interruption from Zygarde and L, who had escorted Zygarde and proclaims that it wishes to challenge the player. The player battles Jacinthe afterward; this battle also doubles as their Z-A Royale promotion match. Jacinthe states that her wish upon reaching Rank A in the Z-A Royale is to bring happiness to the people of Lumiose City, by fulfilling her self-proclaimed duty of training each and every one to be the strongest Pokémon Trainers. She gives TM020 (Play Rough) to the player after defeating her.
During the game's final act, Jacinthe and most of the other major Trainers encountered thus far turn up to Team MZ's strategy meeting in hologram forms to discuss how to deal with the Ange crisis. Jacinthe provides information on the situation in the city and suggests dividing roles in each area in order to help the player reach Zygarde, who is waiting at Magenta District. Jacinthe does not appear to help the player battle rampaging Rogue Mega-Evolved Pokémon, instead tasking Lebanne to help the player while she works to liaise with the mayor and mobilize forces to defend the city. Jacinthe does eventually appear in person after the battle, right as Lebanne complains about her personality, and Jacinthe makes a mental note to review Lebanne's attitude later. When more Rogue Mega-Evolved Pokémon appear, Jacinthe and Lebanne together activate a Jacinthe zone barrier to entrap the Pokémon and stop their rampage. In the credits, Jacinthe leads her SBC members in their efforts to help out after the incident with Prism Tower, by setting up Jacinthe zones to quarantine and battle the remaining Rogue Mega-Evolved Pokémon.
In the post-game, Ivor and Jacinthe approach Team MZ and ask what the player and Urbain/Taunie will use their Rank A wish for — while also realizing that they both share the same dream of the betterment of Trainers in Lumiose City. Jacinthe suggests the player wishes for a new tournament open to all the Trainers in the city, which would eventually be realized by Quasartico Inc. as the Infinite Z-A Royale.

After the player has completed 20 reward matches in the Infinite Z-A Royale, Jacinthe invites the player to return to Hotel Richissime to participate in Le Super-Tournoi de Jacinthe O, a tournament bracket where Jacinthe occupies every position other than the player's. She must be defeated four times in a row, and uses the same team every time, with both teams being healed between battles. After winning all four battles, the side mission is complete and Jacinthe thereafter uses the stage to host a parody battle facility called Le Super-Tournoi de Jacinthe Infinite, where the player can participate in an endless stream of battles, with Jacinthe again using the same team. Similar to more conventional battle facilities, she will keep a record of the player's longest streak of consecutive wins, but there are no rewards other than the experience and money earned from each battle.

In the TCG

Jacinthe was introduced as a Supporter card in the Pokémon Trading Card Game during the English Mega Evolution Series (the Japanese MEGA Series). It was first released in the Japanese Nihil Zero expansion, with artwork by Susumu Maeya. This card allows the player to heal 150 damage from 1 of their Psychic-type Pokémon.
Trivia
- Jacinthe uses an Aurorus, even though it isn't Fairy-type and can't learn any Fairy-type moves. This may be in contrast to Lebanne, who uses a Tyrantrum.
- In the Mega Dimension DLC, it is mentioned by Korrina that Jacinthe trained under Diantha, who battles with both an Aurorus and a Tyrantrum. Therefore, Jacinthe using Aurorus herself could possibly be a nod to her mentor, with Lebanne following suit in using Tyrantrum.
- Moreover, Korrina speculates that Diantha's Gardevoir is what sparked Jacinthe's love for Fairy-type Pokémon, which might also be the reason why Jacinthe battles using a Gardevoir of her own.
- When Jacinthe calls using the Holo Caster, her hologram is a different colour than usual, being purple, the same color used for the Jacinthe zone.
- Jacinthe's artwork for Pokémon Legends: Z-A is the only character art for the game to feature a specialty Poké Ball, that being her signature Luxury Ball.
