In the game, each player receives a game base with 24 different Pokémon on it and a deck of "choice" cards with one card for each Pokémon. There are two different sets of Pokémon, but both players must use the same set at the same time. Each player chooses a Pokémon from their deck of "choice" cards and the object of the game is to guess which Pokémon the other player has chosen. To guess, players narrow down the number of Pokémon by asking Yes or No questions such as "Is your Pokémon a Water-type?" or "Does your Pokémon have a tail?" and flipping down the Pokémon that do not fit this criteria. The game is over when a player has successfully guessed the other player's Pokémon and/or has narrowed down their board to only one Pokémon.
